The small daily habits that keep my mind, body and spirit in balance, even on the busiest shoot days.
Wellness, for me, isn’t a weekend reset or a once-a-year retreat. It’s the small things I come back to every day, especially when the schedule is full and it would be easy to let them slide.
Start with stillness
Before my phone and before email, I give myself a few quiet minutes. Sometimes that’s prayer or a short devotional; sometimes it’s just sitting with a cup of tea. Starting the day from a calm place makes everything that follows feel more manageable.
Care for the body you’re in
Long shoot days ask a lot of your body. I keep it simple: drink water, eat real food, stretch, and rest when I can. None of it is glamorous, but it’s what lets me show up with energy and keep that energy all day.
Protect your peace
Loving yourself also means setting boundaries. I’ve learned to say no to the things that drain me, so I can give a full yes to the people and projects that matter. Rest isn’t a reward for finishing everything. It’s part of the work.
From the inside out
Everything I believe about wellness comes back to one idea: when you take care of what’s inside, it shows on the outside. Uplift, encourage and enlighten, starting with yourself.
